Tryouts posted by David on 2011-05-31 ◊ RVYSA will hold travel team tryouts for all age groups June 7th, 8th, and 9th at 6:00 – Chockyotte Main Field. We are conducting the tryouts over a 3 day period in order to allow every child wanting to play, the opportunity to attend at least 1 of the sessions (baseball & softball conflicts, etc.). Your child DOES NOT have to attend all 3 session, only 1. The format will be the same as in past years (basic drills, speed, and small sided games). Each child will be evaluated on a standardized scoring basis and must tryout in their true age group. Combining age groups will be considered by the RVYSA Executive Board once the final numbers are determined for each age group. RVYSA Academy Program posted by Joe on 2009-08-02 ◊ Beginning with the Fall 2009/ Spring 2010 season, the Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce it will join the NCYSA U10 Academy Program for players interested in travel soccer, for ages U9 and U10. The Academy will replace the U10 Challenge teams and will be more focused on individual skill development, tactical awareness, and development of the total soccer player, than overall team results. The NCYSA has strongly suggested clubs go this route in order to improve our players fundamental skills and bring the fun back into the game. Links to more information provided by NCYSA are below:
